On Wednesday June 18 a Romanian train collided with a bear, killing the bear. The accident happened around 50 kilometres from Tirgu Mures, close to the area where our partner Milvus is doing research. The bear was a mother of two cubs. Aided by the gamekeeper, hunters and a forester, a Milvus member found the dead bear and managed to capture the two cubs. The cubs have spent a couple of days at a veterinarian, and were then transported to the Orphaned Bear Cub Rehabilitation Center, run by Leonardo Bereczky, from the NGO Association for Conserving Natural Values.
