The Chingaza–Ecopalacio sector east of Bogotá, Colombia, is strategic for Andean bear conservation while facing human pressure linked to access routes and nature tourism. There is a need for up-to-date, continuous, non-invasive evidence to understand presence and activity patterns without increasing stress on individuals.

Ecopalacio provides territorial continuity, local knowledge, and logistical feasibility to sustain rigorous monitoring over one year. This new project by Endémica Studios (funded by Bears in Mind since 2026) contributes the capacity to translate evidence into an educational audiovisual tool with implementation and measurable outcomes, while the scientific advisor ensures methodological rigor, data quality, and sound interpretation.
